A few minor issues/questions...

Postby p1ea on Wed Oct 30, 2013 2:47 pm

Evaluating version 6.35 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Looking pretty good so far, except one major issue that I'll post separately and the following few smaller matters...

    1) In all of my profiles, even those that complete without any other errors, I get "SSH error 114" in the logs. The destination is SFTP. Is this anything to worry about?

    2) Files that are being encrypted before uploading are renamed on the destination with designations such as d20101208-u012609.ext.s5886. Is there a way to turn that off or is that required to track the files in the database? Files that I'm not encrypting before uploading are not being renamed in this manner.

    3) This is a small feature request... In Profile Settings > Advanced > Masks & Filters, while the Exclusion Masks tab can accept Files and Folders, the Inclusion Masks tab is rather clunky with needing to use special syntax to specify an external text file listing subfolders (which btw, is not saved together with the profile on export). Both tabs should behave the same way, listing inclusion and exclusion filters within the config window itself, not externally referenced. I tried using the "Specify Folder Masks" checkbox, but it didn't work for multi-level inclusions without scanning the entire tree, which is not desired.
Otherwise, it's great - much better than three other solutions I just evaluated. Love the breadth of configurable options, most of the interface is good, seems stable so far, especially handling large volumes of files which some of the other apps choked on.

Thanks,
Peter

Never mind on #2 above, somehow the versioning feature got turned on accidentally.

Hello,
SSH Error 114 is an authentication error. When it happens, Syncovery switches to a different authentication type. So probably nothing to worry about, if it works anyway. You can choose the authentication types on the Security tab sheet of the Internet dialog.

Anything you put in the external text file can also be used in the Inclusion Masks edit field itself.
