Confirmation to overwrite newer files

Postby technokid-bes on Tue Oct 16, 2012 4:31 pm

Folder synchronization fails because of a request to overwrite a newer file with an older one

running Syncovery v6.06, build 109

I am running SmartTracking for two way synchronization between two folders located at different physical sites connected with a vpn. I am running Syncovery at the site where left hand folder resides and the ExtremeSync remote services at the site for the right hand folder. I am getting errors in the log file "(confirmation to overwrite newer files with older ones is missing in profile's Safety/Unattended settings)".

Copying Direction : Bidirectional (Left To Right And Right To Left)
The profile is executed by the Syncovery Service.
The profile is executed by the Syncovery Service.

Previous run was at 10/16/2012 3:56:52 PM: INCOMPLETE: 1 copied (265.0kB) of 67, confirmations missing

I am using Syncovery to keep these two folders in sync. Changes get made to data on each side. Should I allow newer files to be overwritten? Why is there a request to overwrite newer files with older ones?

Thanks for your help

In some cases this may be legitimate. To dermine exactly what is happening, please install the latest version 6.13 and then go to the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet Logs and choose "SmartTracking Details" at the bottom.

Then run the job (you can do it manually) and please send the log file to info@superflexible.com.

Best wishes,
