Email Notifications

Postby wayneph on Mon Feb 14, 2011 11:04 am

I am trying to set up the File Synchronizer to sync files between a desktop and two different laptops. At any given time the laptops may or may not be connected to the network and available from the desktop. I had set up the sync to run every 4 hours so that whenever I update the files they will automatically show up on the other machine.

My problem is that if one of the laptops is off, I start receiving an email every 4 hours that the profile was unsuccessful because it couldn't access the left directory. In this case, I don't really need a notification every time it fails. I'd really rather like to know if it goes 3 or 4 days with out being successful. That way if I'm away from home with the laptop, I don't get 6 emails a day for something I know won't work.

It looks like there would be a way to do this with the "Retry" options but I haven't gotten the right combinition to suppress the email and to keep the schedule running if successful.

Thanks.

You could try a daily digest. This option is on the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet Notify:

Send Emails In A Digest Every "day".

That's the closest to what you want.
