Email report for scripted profiles (V6)

Postby Nealio on Tue Aug 02, 2011 3:45 pm

I've recently setup SFFS 6.22.22 with a series of profiles that move 2 files types between a local server, local archive, and an FTP site. Basically, there is a .RTF document and a .TXT file that acts as catalog file to be used for importing the RTF files into a database. In order for that to for the system to process the RTFS correctly, the RTF has to exist at the FTP site before the TXT. In order to accomplish that, I created 4 profiles.

1. COPY RTF to remote site. (Scheduled every 10 minutes).
2. MOVE RTF from local site to local archive (scripted to run after #1.)
3. COPY TXT to remote site (scripted to run after #2.)
4. MOVE TXT from local site to local archive (scripted to run after #3.).

Feel free to provide alternatives if this doesn't seem to be the most efficient method of performing this function.

Once they finish running, I get 3 email reports for profiles 2,3, and 4 that contains the following:
WARNING: This profile is no longer scheduled!
This can have several causes. Please check the
scheduling settings for this profile.

Technically, they were never scheduled in the first place since they were only scripted to run after #1, but I understand what it's trying to say. Is there a setting that can be changed to prevent these messages? or is this a bug of sorts?

Hello,

yes the warning is a bug that needs to be fixed.

You can combine profiles 1&2 as well as 3&4 by using the mode "Move Files To Destination" and specify a "Folder for Deleted Files" on the tab sheet Files->Deletions.

The right-hand side (the destination) should be the remote site and the folder for deleted files should be the local archive.

You don't have to do it this way, but maybe you'll prefer it. It will make sure that files are only archived locally if the copy to the remote destination has been successful.
