Exclusions not being excluded

Postby RadicalDad on Tue May 03, 2011 6:59 am

I have a PC and a Mac laptop that are sharing documents. The folders on both machines are sharing files via a NAS. The PC synchronizes its files against a NAS share, and the Mac does the same.

I would like the various specialized from each OS to NOT show up in the other's hard drive. (They could be on the NAS, but there is no reason for that.) That is so say, I don't want the ._DS files and .alias files to show up on the PC, and I don't want the .lnk files to show up on the Mac. I tried putting the following entries in the exclusion masks tab, but its not working.

*.*alias
*.lnk
._*
.localized

I had an alias file show up on the PC. I entered the filter on the Mac side, then deleted the Mac side alias file as a test. I figured that the delete wouldn't go through to the PC, but it did. What am I doing wrong?

(Haven't tried with the other files yet. Perhaps I just have the alias syntax wrong.)

Thanks

Hello,

you need to choose "Ignore Totally" on the Exclusions tab sheet.
