Expected feature

Postby MerleOne on Fri Feb 26, 2010 5:33 am

Hi,

I really like and use a lot SFFS, but there one feature I am missing everyday. When I get to the sycnhronization windows preview, very often, I'd like to exclude some files from future syncs. But right clicking for instance on a given file proposes Apply New Exclusion Mask which is empty. It would be so great if the proposed exclusion mask could be pre-filled with the file name/relative path under the right click.

I have a complicated workaround : I select "rename file", I copy the file name, then I re-enter "Apply new exclusion Mask" and fill the field with the file name. I then answer yes when I get the question regarding the integration of the Mask to the profile.

Thanks !

Thanks for the suggestion! I hope I can make this easier in version 5.

I agree. I really miss this functionality. If there is a file "Fred.xyz" listed in the attended backup preview window, I'd like to be able to right-click and see two extra entries on the context menu: "Exclude Fred.xyz" and "Exclude *.xyz".

This would add either of the two filemasks to the profile's exclude list and also remove any other files in the preview window that match the mask.

You could also have corresponding right-click entries that worked on the global exclude list instead, but that menu is getting quite long!

Thanks,
Ross
