File deletion rules

Currently I'm setting a profile up for Exact Mirror mode. In the Exact Mirror config, I've set to "Delete from dest if not present in the source", and then to "Delay by 2 days" before deleting. Also, under Advanced Settings --> Files --> Deletions, I have the Recycle Bin options unchecked (it's a network drive anyway), and the option for "Move deleted files to specified folder" checked.

My assumption is that these settings will cause the Source-deleted file to be delayed from deletion from the Destination for 2 days, and then at that time, it is moved to my specified "Delete Folder".

Is this correct?

Another question regarding file deletion; if I set an exclusion mask after I've run a synchronize cycle, will files that are now excluded be deleted from the destination side?

For example, a file called "example.sys" is synced to the destination folder, and than I later add an exclusion for "example.sys", will "example.sys" be deleted from the destination folder (allowing for my deletion rules) in subsequent sync operations?

No - excluded files are totally ignored and never touched or deleted.

I'd like to delete some files from the destination (manually), but I don't want to foul up the destination file database. Can I just delete the database files and have SFFS rebuild it upon the next sync operation? If so, which files should I delete to make this happen?

Yes you can just delete the database. The main database file is listed in the log file. You can also identify it yourself becaue it normally has the same name as the profile. The database folder is shown on the Program Settings dialog (F8).

Concerning this option to delete excluded files/directories from the destination, are there plans to implement such a feature in a future release? Since i have limited space on my backup drive i would really love this to be realized. Otherwise it's a hassle to delete these files manually every time the destination is contaminated.

Yes, the new version 5 has it. When using Exact Mirror, click on the Configure button and you will find some checkboxes allowing you to delete deselected items from the destination.
