File deletions disabled in unattended mode

Postby chrisdk on Mon Jun 07, 2010 9:37 am

I'm trying to use SuperFlexible (4.94a) to clear out a scratch data area at the end of the week. I want this to run automatically using the service.

To do this, I've set up an empty folder as the Left-hand side, and the folder I want to clear out as the right-hand side. I've set the profile to exact mirror mode and under Safety - Unattended mode, File Deletion allowed is ticked and I've set the maximum to 100% of the files. However, when I run the profile, I get the message "nothing to be done, deletions disabled, see Safety settings".

What am I doing wrong?!

For safety reasons, the program won't delete all files even if you specify 100%. If there are no files, it will assume that something is wrong, so it won't do anything. There is an undocumented setting that you can add to the INI file to disable this safety belt if you don't want it. You can ask for it by emailing support@superflexible.com.

But usually I recommend to just put a dummy file in your empty source folder, such as "Do not delete me.txt".

In addition, you need to make sure that the last checkmark on the Unattended tab sheet is unchecked (Special Safety Warnings).
