How To Create Initial Backup When Monitoring?

Two questions:

1) Can I combine monitoring and Synthetic Backups ?

2) how do I get an initial backup created on a job where "Monitoring/Real-time-sync" is selected

Yes.

2) how do I get an initial backup created on a job where "Monitoring/Real-time-sync" is selected

On the Real-Time dialog, you should choose the checkmark "Run profile entirely once, then use Real-Time Synchronization".

But you can also seed the backup manually, either with Windows Explorer or by running the job manually in attended mode.

I missed the extra options related to "Real Time Sync" because I based it on another profile and used save-as.
I see now that the "..." after "Real Time Sync" means that there's more involved with that selection...

Selecting that option didnt get it going though, so I ran it manually.

Yes it only starts a full run when you stop and restart the scheduler.

I've just installed version 6 and see that's much clearer now (- that there's extra settings)

Going off-topic, but I didnt think it weas worth a new thread:

In version 6, a very minor text problem in the email notification settings:
see where the pointer is. I think the word should be (ironically) "missing"
