Hi, I have now tried different ways of backing up a remote PC to an NAS drive on our LAN at home over the Internet. But the different variants I have tried so far, ftp and SSH does not work very well in my case, and seem a bit unstable. I am therefore wondering if vpn could be a better alternative?
What I am thinking of is to change my current D-Link router to a router with vpn so that the remote PC can establish a secure connection (and hopefully stable...) to our LAN and then go on to syncronize files to our NAS...
We have a fixed ip-adress to the internet which might make this easier??
Or is this not a good one for some reason???
If it is indeed the best choice for backing up a computer to our NAS, then are there any requirements on equipment that I should think of if I want to use Super Flexible File Syncronizer as the back-up-programme??? Besides an vpn router, what else would I need in order to get this thing working???
Thanks!
