No Log-File?

Postby cfrankenberg on Thu Jun 17, 2010 1:31 am

Hello,

I have created three syncronisation profiles. All three seemed to work fine (timer based in the night) but only two of them are creating logfiles. One does not any more. Any idea why? Can I influence the logfile generation per profile? I think this is an global configuration. Wich informations do you need to explore this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

frankly the most likely cause is that the profile has not run.

The log file options are all global, so there is no way to change an option on a per-profile basis. For the best results, please make sure that the log option is set to "separate log file for each run". Then please invoke the job manually by right-clicking it and choosing "Run in background". Then you should be able to see if it creates a log or not.

Is your scheduler running as Background Scheduler (the default) or as a service (must be specifically chosen)? Because if the scheduler doesn't have write access to the log folder, it may not be able to write the log.

Cheers,
Tobias

Hello,
the profile is running, thats for sure.. And the log option is set to "separate log file for each run". But the hint to the rights is an good idea... I will check the permissions.

Thanks!

Yeah! I deleted the user (profile/common/user...) (in german: Profileinstellungen/weitere Einstellungen/Allgemein/Benutzer... ) and now this profile can write the log...

Thanks for your advice!
