windows 7 backup - access denied

Postby fasten on Sun Nov 21, 2010 1:14 am

Hello, I am trying to backup my full c:\drive with Windows and some program files, but I keep getting lots of acces denied, mainly in the windows folder, or windows related. I did turn on shadow copy, etc and tried a bunch of other options, but no result.

How to make a decent backup to another disc (that can actually run in case the c:\ disc errors out or so). Please send me a schedule that is working (so I can import it).

thanks, lars

Currently, this program cannot back up a complete Windows 7 bootable partition due to some additional features of the file system that were added since Windows XP. A new version is planned for next year that will be able to do that. Most of our customers only want to back up data with the synchronizer.

But in general, to avoid permissions errors, you need to run the program "As Administrator" by right-clicking its icon in the Start menu (or Shift-right-click if you have an icon in the task bar), and then choosing "Run As Administrator".

When using the scheduler, it must be installed as a service. See also http://www.superflexible.com/docup.htm.
