5.35 No minimize to system tray

Postby M_Meyer on Tue Feb 22, 2011 6:36 am

Since V 5.35, SFFS minimizes no longer to the system tray if not used by the Background Scheduler.
As result, the behaviour is somewhat strange.
When starting SFFS with certain profiles via "/RUNX=profile* /M", the application is not really responsive any more.
Profiles cannot be selected.
When being maximized, it automatically minimizes after a profile is finished.
It is not obvious that a profile is still active.

Is this intended?

Hello,

to use the program, you need to open a separate instance from the Start Menu or whereever you have your icon. On Windows 7, you may have to right-click the icon in order to be able to launch a second instance.

The instance that you launched with /RUNX /M is not supposed to allow user interaction such as selecting profiles. It is supposed to be mostly invisible. Due to the tray icon change, it is now less invisible than it was before, which can be confusing. I will think about a possible improvement.

It's okay if I have to open a separate instance - but at the moment, it is not obvious if the program is busy or not.
An improvement would be great!
