Amazon S3 login errors

Postby laemmle on Wed Feb 23, 2011 2:08 pm

SuperFlexible is throwing login errors for Amazon S3.

"FTP Exception (3): EAmazonS3Exception Forbidden @ 00D7CEB2
Login failed. Please check your S3 access details."

Credentials have been triple checked and are valid. Amazon S3 is properly signed-up, etc. Any ideas?

Usually the computer's clock or timezone are not precise. Precise time is required for authentication.

You also have to sign up for S3 in addition to signing up for AWS.

Yes, we have signed up for Amazon S3 in addition to signing up for AWS and have created many different 'buckets" already.

Our desktop clocks are set to the correct time zone for our location. Is there something on Amazon that needs to be changed?

What about the clock, it must not be even 1 minute off.

Our desktop clocks are synced with Windows Time Server. And are up to date.

I have also tried this from a completely different network and computer setup with the same results.

Should I try to create a new Amazon account and start over?

P.S. Google Docs works just fine.

I think we should look at the detailed rejection message from Amazon S3. It can be found in the Internet Protocol log files generated by our app. You can turn those on on the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet Logs.

The log files will be named FTPLOG*.txt and they are in the TEMP folder which you get to by entering %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer. You can post the relevant parts here or send to support@superflexible.com.

Thank you. The problem was we were using the login username and password for the AWS account, instead of using the Access Key and Secret Key from the account.

Everything works great, now that we are using the Access ID and Secret Key instead of the login details.

Sorry for the trouble and thanks for the help.

Thanks!
