How to do this?

Postby zim2323 on Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:01 pm

I have a couple issues I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction for. If not a fix, maybe suggestion for future.

1) Under versioning, would like to be able to set not only how many "versions" of the files to keep, but also, set the maximum retention time for duplicate/deleted/moved files. Example, I have a folder with 8gb of ISO's that I renamed. I have configured versioning for 7 versions, which based on my current undrstanding, means that if nothing ever changes (or doesn't change 7 times), I'll have 8gb of duplicated ISO's. I'd like to be able to have a setting that I could say, I deleted these, but I only want to keep versions that are less then 2 weeks old. Once the 2 weeks is up, then they should be removed.

2) Have the ability to make groups of profiles that are all assignable to a GLOBAL scheduler. Example, I have 2 sets of "profiles". The first set is 22 profiles that backup/sync all critical files to an external 1.5TB USB3.0 hard drive that I take with me to work each morning. Those are set to sync at 3am. I have another set of 6 profiles that run at 4am that backup each of my 6 hard drives in their entirity. Currently I have to have all 28 profiles listed together to have the scheduler run them as scheduled. If I put each set into a different INI file, only the last loaded INI is actually scheduled. Would like to keep groups of profiles seperate so they are easier to manage, but still be able to attach them all to a "global" scheduler service so that they are all still run according to schedule.

3) Have the ability to globally change one or more settings across all selected profiles. Example, again I have 28 profiles, 22 in one "set" and 6 in another. I find out that rather then have files deleted to the recycle bin, I want them moved to another folder. As it is right now, I have to edit each and every profile individually. I'd like to be able to change it once for all selected profiles. I'd like to be able to do that for one or more settings.

Thanks!

Please add to option #1, also the ability to define whether versioning is performed on files of X size.

Such that, anything above a certain size, say 1gb, has 2 versions and is only kept for a maximum of 3 days, wile anything below 1gb has 7 versions and will be kept for 2 weeks.

Thanks!
