Bug in 5.35d

Postby alexia_net on Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:30 am

Hi. I have noticed that there might be a bug in version 5.35d and earlier. In "schedule" section, in "Monitoring / Real Time Sync" I want to "run the profile as soon as the drive or volumes involved become availabl"e. When i check that option, the one bellow it, "Minimum pause between actions" gets checked automatically and i cannot deselect it. When I click ok the program throws a warning, "You have chosen two scheduling options that cannot be combined. Please remove the second check-mark on the monitoring tab sheet." But i cannot not. Any suggestions? Thank you.

A) this forum is not for bug reports. Send them to support@superflexible.com.

B) this is not a bug. You need to remove the checkmark "run the profile as soon as the drive or volumes involved become available" or remove the checkmark "Schedule This Profile" on the "Schedule" tab sheet.

If you want to specify a regular schedule on the "Schedule" tab sheet, then you do not need the checkmark on the "Monitoring" tab sheet. If the drive is not available, the profile will not run.

Hi. I am sorry for posting this in to a section which is not for bugs. Please accept my apologies. The thing is that even if I use schedule, i want to use the option for running the backup when the volume becomes available because if for some reason the server on which the volume is restarted, I want SuperFlexible to resume the process automatically. Cna this be done? Thank you.

Hello,

for this purpose, you don't need the options on the "Monitoring" tab sheet.

What you need is under "Access & Retries" -> "Waiting and Retrying".

All of the checkmarks on that tab sheet are probably useful for you.

You should probably specify a maximum number of Re-Runs, because otherwise errors that can't be fixed by re-running would cause infinite re-runs.

In addition, on the "Files" tab sheet, you should use the option "Automatically resume" so that incomplete transfers at the destination can be resumed later, and incomplete files aren't considered to be newer than the original.
