Why doesn't clicking "Stop Profile" work?

Postby Ivangelion on Wed Mar 16, 2011 1:45 am

Howdy,

When we used "real-time monitoring" and SFFS detected there were differences between 2 sites, it started to do sync jobs. However when we clicked "Stop Profile" to let it stop, it just won't stop and continued to "Building List ... xxx Entries". We even changed to disable the profile, but it didn't work either. Only if we stopped the Service Scheduler and restart the service, then it could stop.

What's wrong?

Thank you in advance.

In some cases when the profile is busy, the button may not work.

Then how long do we have to wait for the button to work? Or we can only restart the service?

I don't know - it depends on what the job is currently doing. Usually the Stop button works fine. Maybe a problem with non-English characters in the profile name? Also please try canceling it from the Scheduler tab sheet.

If the profile is really running in real-time mode, the "Building File List" phase should be very short. If it is long, then real-time may not be appropriate for this job. You should use regular scheduling instead.

You could also take a look at the log files, which may show a lot of real-time notifications that need to be processed. This should not happen - the real-time processing should not fall back so much.

You could send such logs to me by email, but I suspect that real-time is not appropriate for this use case.

I think I can confirm that the stop button does not work while building the file list for real-time. I will change that.
