Difference between "don't copy" and "ignore totally"

Postby rossmcm on Thu Mar 24, 2011 4:35 pm

In the exclusion masks tab there are two radio buttons labelled "ignore totally" and "don't copy". I can't find them mentioned in the help (which should be remedied!).

What is the difference between these two options?

Hi,

the difference concerns deletions. For example, if you are in Exact Mirror Mode, the program is supposed to delete files and folders from the destination if they are no longer on the source side. But sometimes, folders can't be deleted from the destination because they still contain some files which are excluded. For that reason, version 5 added the option to either ignore them totally (so they will stay on the destination), or exclude them only for copying, but not for deletions.
