I have 2 PC's (work and home) and a S3 bucket. I want to keep work and home and S3 synchronized, ignoring deleted files (i.e. if a file is deleted at work, I want the copy on S3 and at home to remain. I can clean these up manually if need be).
I have got work and home and S3 synchronized after a bit of manual pushing and shoving and moving (they weren't quite as synchronized as I thought they were) so I'm ready to go live.
I'm not sure how to set SFFS up though. The main thing I'm having difficulty with is moved files. I set up test folders on each machine and a both-ways sync profile on each PC. If I create a doc inside \\Home\Test Folder, run both-ways sync on the home machine, then run bothways sync on the work machine (where would I be without TeamViewer?!), the doc appears inside \\Work\Test Folder\. All good. However, If I move the doc from \\Home\Test Folder to \\Home\Test Folder\Another Folder\ and run a bothways sync on the Home PC, SFFS decides to move it back again, to match what it already has at S3.
I'm wondering if what I'm trying to do needs separate one-way profiles for each direction, with all of the profiles set up to perform the adjustments at the destination. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts as this must be a common scenario.
Thanks,
Ross
