Experiencing huge delay when operating SFFS UI

Postby Ivangelion on Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:45 pm

Hello,

We now have two sites running SFFS main program. One is in US which has 20 profiles, and the other is in Taiwan which has 10 profiles. remote sync (US <-> TW) is set on US site. When operating on TW SFFS UI, the program responses in real-time and works fine, e.g. click to edit the profile, checking log files, etc.

However, the US site seemed operating very slow. It had to wait for one to several second for the program to response. Both CPU usages of US and TW were normal.

What would be the cause of this problem?

Thank you.

I don't know. Maybe you can try installing the latest version and rebooting the system. If problems remain, try stopping the scheduler to see if it makes a difference. If so, try disabling some jobs to find out which one causes this.

Can't SFFS handle many concurrent running profiles? I used two testing machines and create profiles by date folders and sync profiles for 1 to 15 of dates using "Run In Background", and SFFS UI started to lag.

It seemed also that when I folded the profiles (which names begin with the same begining), the UI could be faster.

Some customers run 100 profiles in parallel. It works fine. But all these jobs send progress information to the GUI, so maybe in some cases it can slow it down a little. It's just a matter of updating the progress display, not running the jobs. I will see if it can be improved.

Thank you. BW FYI I just removed 12 profiles for RD's new requests, and the UI runs more faster.
