SuperFlexible won't create a mirror

Postby alexia_net on Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:26 am

Hi. I am having a dilema. I have configured a job in SuperFlexible for synchronizing some files and in the Sync Operation Mode I chose Exact Mirror. Also, i have selected Delete Files From Destination Side If Not Present In the Source and Overwrite Newer Files, in case the files which are newer on the destination side than the source side. The surprise was that SuperFlexible has copied the new file BUT DID NOT delete the older file, even thou this file does not exists in the source. So what could be wrong? Thank you.

You need to look at the log file. It probably says that you haven't configured the profile to do the deletions in unattended mode. To allow deletions to occur unattended, you need to go to the tab sheet Safety->Unattended Mode and make sure that the deletion checkmark is set and that the "Special Safety" checkmark is NOT set.

Hi. I am not saying that it could be a software error. The thing is that both servers have dedicated nics for backups and both have raid 5. Also, we have dedicated network for backup. There is enough CPU and RAM as well on the servers. So there should not be a problem with the traffic, especially that only 3 jobs run simultaneously. For example today, to jobs have failed twice and my guess is that the files which were copied were to big. One of them is 107 Gb and the other one is 139 Gb. The other jobs seems to be running well, the files being smaller, like 60 Gb. So, could this be a thing related with the way the software is handling files bigger then 100 Gb? I am not saying that its a software problem, but giving the infrastructure that we have and that the other jobs run fine, this is the the first ting I am thinking of. I have also run a ping while the sync job was in progress. No time out. Thank you.

You need to look at the log files. You can also send them to support@superflexible.com.

You can find the log files by right-clicking on the profile in the Profile Overview (in Advanced Mode).

You can also get to the log folder directly by clicking on the Gears toolbar button and choosing "Show Log Folder...".
