Tobias -

So sorry I never responded to your email on this. I did try the version you sent and still had problems, though I'm sorry to say I didn't document them carefully enough to tell you now exactly what happened with that version. I had so many problems with the Macs that I finally gave up and returned them. Summer is a very busy time for me and I just couldn't devote any more resources to trying to make those things work properly.

Too bad. The hardware is really quite nice and the UI is slick and fun to use, with one really horrible exception being the Finder. The Finder replacements didn't work all that well and had bugs of their own. Honestly, I don't know how people get real work done on a Mac. They seem to be fine for simple needs on an individual basis, but if you work on multiple projects, each having multiple files to manage, have complex calendar needs, require tight integration of calendar and contact information with your associates, and need to access multiple networks with your laptop as you move through your day, then Macs just don't cut it. After fighting with OSX for a month, its no surprise to me that these things aren't welcome in the enterprise environment. As a professional musician (one of the hats I wear), I was also surprised to find that the content creation software on a Mac had some drawbacks compared to the PC versions I had been using.

Anyway, as you can see from my other posts, I purchased Windows 7 machines and have been slowly configuring them as my time permits. I really lost my window to bring new machines up by playing with those &*%@ Macs for so long, and I'd really rather be out riding my bicycle than configuring new machines now. Sigh.

Thanks so much for all your help - and devotion to your product. You are to be commended. Sorry I couldn't help you troubleshoot this further.
