Unicode File Backup

Postby MarcRJacobs on Mon Jun 06, 2011 10:15 am

I am running Super Flexible v5.48 and am doing backups from a server to a local disk via FTP. The server has many file names with Russian (Cyrillic) characters. An example is a file named "андрей 2.jpg" that tries to look via FTP on the server for "?????? 2.JPG" and of course it does not exist. The log shows:
/ECC/utility/андрей 2.jpg (12:35:16 AM FTPCLIENT.RETRIEVEFILE: FTP ERROR (550 "?????? 2.JPG" DOES NOT EXIST
) at 006DF09C.CP: SPCSX/DCopy05)
All non-Cyrillic files in the same folder transfer fine.
I have tried every setting in the FTP connection I can think of and it does not work.
To verify the server's FTP Server supports Cyrillic I manually downloaded the file using 3 different FTP clients and it came through fine.
Any advice, please?

Hello,

you can choose the Unicode (UTF-8) character encoding on the second tab sheet of the Internet/FTP dialog.
