Temporary Backup files

Postby stc on Sun Jun 05, 2011 1:27 pm

I am using SFFS to backup my macbook to a USB hard drive. Yesterday i neglected to connect the drive, but i thought the programme would just pause the backup until the drive was connected. What has happened is that the backup has run, seemingly storing the backup on the macbook's own drive. I now have virtually no hdd space left as the backup is around 200gb.
Can you tell me where the programme is likely to have kept what i guess wold be temporary backup files? I need to locate them and delete them, but I cannot find any reference to them in the SFFS settings.
Thank you

Hello,

you need to hit Cmd-Shift-G in Finder in order to go to the folder /Volumes. There you may see a bogus volume where the files were copied. You can delete that.

I have put several safeguards in the software to avoid this, but apparently sometimes MacOS does create such a bogus folder for absent volumes and allows copying to it. I will look into this issue further.
