Creating Profiles

Postby uni on Mon Jun 13, 2011 1:24 pm

Is there a way to create a profiles remotely, either through command line, or editing the ini file?

It used to be possible with the older version of SFFS, by editing the INI file, but the new INI files has alot of strange characters.

Thanks

It is not recommended to edit the INI file directly, because it is not human readable. But that has always been so, it is essentially the same format as in version 1. Just more options added.

You can use File->Monitoring Tool if you are on the same LAN or VPN as the computer where the jobs run.

I would want a custom script that runs to create a new job also in SFFS, on the same server. This is not possible?

No, but I am planning it for version 6. You can watch our beta page:

Currently you can only run existing jobs, but you can override the paths with additional command line parameters such as /LEFT="Left path" /RIGHT="Right path". You can also change an existing profile with the /CHANGE="Profile Name" command line parameter, with which a few profile properties can be changed, such as the paths with the /LEFT and /RIGHT parameters.

You could create a profile by duplicating the opt_Profilename line in the INI file and changing the name.
