How to sync "selected folders" and new folders

Postby Tootall on Mon Jul 04, 2011 10:12 pm

Basically I want to sync an entire folder (let's call it FolderA) and all its subfolders (e.g. SubFolderA1, SubFolderA2, etc.) EXCEPT one subfolder (for argument sake called SubFolderA3). To do so, in the "Include folders", I have checked the desired folder and subfolders in "Selected Folders" menu; the one that I do not want (SubFolderA3) is not checked.

Everything works fine until I add a new subfolder (say SubFolderA4); to my FolderA. Because my profile uses "Selected Folders", any new subfolder is not selected. This is odd because SubFolderA4 is NOT a subfolder of SubFolderA3, it is at the same level.

To sync it, I must manually select it! Is there a way just to exclude one subfolder from syncing without precluding any new ones created subsequently?? otherwise the profiles need to be continuously updated as soon as a subfolder is created...

(ps.: selecting "All" in the "Include folders" menu will not solve my problem)

Thank you

Hello,

you need to choose "All" for subfolders and then type the folder name to exclude in the Exclusion Masks field. So, under Masks & Filters->Exclusions, you will just type

Subfolder3

Which will cause any items named Subfolder3 to be excluded on all levels. Of course if a folder is excluded, all items within it are excluded too.

If the folder name appears several times and must be excluded only at the top level, you can type

/Subfolder3
