SFFS trouble with open QuickBooks files

Postby RadicalDad on Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:36 pm

Having just upgraded to Windows 7 and the latest version of QuickBooks, I am finding that the SFFS is generating an error when QB opens because the QB data files are locked. I know that QB uses record locking to allow multi-user access, but it still seems that shadow copy should be able to get around this. (By the way, I'm only using one copy of QB.) I have included the log file. (QB data file name has been munged for security reasons.) Suggestions to avoid this error (and the notifications)?

Volume Shadowing can only help reading locked files. But in this case, the destination was locked. Not the source side.

If you are doing a two-way synchronization, you must make sure that QuickBooks is only opened on one of the two machines at any given time.
