How does "random" delay setting work?

I have two profiles I would like to run at logon. One profile syncs the local computer to the local NAS. The second profile syncs that same data (one way) to an offsite NAS for offsite backup. I would like to insure that the second profile runs after the first profile is complete. Is there a way to do this?

I see on the Schedule / More tab there is an option to "Add a random delay up to X min." Is the delay really random? If I put in 10 minutes, will the delay sometimes only be 2 minutes?

If there is a better way to do what I'm looking for, please advise. Also, if there is a manual for SFFS, I've never found it. I hate to bug you with questions I could find on my own.

Finally, I've found SFFS to be far more useful than I expected. With this new use I'm probably beyond my "family pack Win/Mac" license. Please advise (PM if needed) on how to upgrade to 5 user business license.

We only have the F1 help. But even if we had a PDF manual, it could never be so detailed that you would find a satisfactory answer to questions such as these. I have had to do some research myself to find the answers.

If you have not installed the scheduler as a service, then it will run only one log-on job at a time. With the service, the situation is different and I will post more info on that.

Yes, the random delay is really random, so if you put in 10 minutes, it will sometimes wait for 1, 3, 7 minutes or any number between 0 and 10.

Something you could also do is specify the "Log-On" option only for the first profile, and then chain the second one using the option "Execute before/after" on the Job tab sheet. There you can enter RUN PROFILE xyz and it will run profile xyz at the end of the first profile. However it will always do that, even if you start the first job manually during the day.

When the scheduler is installed as a service, it should be sufficient to remove the checkmark "Start Profiles In Parallel" on the Scheduler tab sheet. Also set the number of max. simultaneous jobs to 1 (on the Program Settings dialog, tab sheet Advanced). Then the jobs will run one after another.
