Amazon S3 - Socket Error 10091

Postby tdcooper on Mon Sep 12, 2011 7:48 am

Hello,

I've started the long process of getting my initial load of around 500 GB of personal data up to S3, and so far SFFS has been a real workhorse, performing admirably with the first 50GB and around 15000 files so far. But... I have run into an issue with ONE single file, the error I get in the log is below:

Errors / Access problems with :

[path and filename not included for privacy] (SOCKET ERROR 10091 at 00C92C50.Checkpoints: FCC.UpdT X/DCopy05t)

The file isn't anything special, it's an approx. 300MB .mov file, taken with an iPhone. Many other similar video files and photos in the same folder have transferred successfully. The file itself isn't corrupt as far as I can tell, it plays fine, no errors apparent. It appears to copy up to S3 successfully, but when it hits 100% SFFS just sits there for around 1/2 hour before aborting this file and carrying on. I've tried several things... renaming the file, moving it to another folder, etc etc.... but it still won't sync! Just so you know, I do have SSH enabled in the security tab for my S3 credentials, so I know that is not the solution unlike similar posts on this socket 10091 error.

Any ideas?

I think it must be a problem on the Amazon S3 site or a routing problem / Internet connectivity problem. You could try turning SSL off or zipping the file before uploading it.
