Mirror by date

Postby sebastiangraeber on Tue Sep 13, 2011 7:28 am

Dear *.*,

I am currently using SuperFlexibleFileSynchronizer and are totally happy with it. Besides one issue, that I didn't get working.

I have a hard disc on which all my daily (video) data is being stored.
Each night SFFS mirrors this hard disc to a NAS.

Now as the disc-space of the NAS is limited, I only want to have the latest data mirrored (as this is the most important data). Is there any way that SFFS can copy only data of the last 150 days to the NAS AND delete on the NAS all data, that is older than 150 days.
So that on the NAS is a copy of my local hard disc but only with files that are 150 days old or younger.

I did find the date-filter-option in SFFS, but obvisiouly this does not delete any data from the NAS that is older than specified ...

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks alot in advance.

Yes, you can use the File Age filter and choose "less than" 150 days.

In addition, you need to choose the Exact Mirror operating mode and click on the Configure button. On the dialog that pops up, you can choose "Remove Files That Do Not Match the Filters From Destination".

I recommend using the latest version 5.53 with this option. It was added in 5.00.
