Suggestion - add "Do this now" function to context menu

Postby rossmcm on Mon Mar 28, 2011 4:11 pm

Hi,

The Synchronization Preview window is brilliant, especially when syncing two machines for the first time.

What would make it really good however, is another function added to the right-mouse-click context menu - "Do this now".

If, for example the sync preview window showed that in a particular folder, 4 files would be copied to S3, you could RMC and select "Do this now". The files would be copied, and the sync preview updated. It would make it much easier to incrementally work your way through a sync preview without having to restart an attended sync each time to get a new preview of what was left to do.

I agree, this sounds like a great idea! This would provide a way for me to accomplish what I am trying to get at with the follow recent feature request (which I'd still be interested in having some day):
feature-request-only-backup-n-amount-of-data-on-each-run-t375.html

A "Do this now" function as described by the OP would indeed be very useful.

I was just wondering if this feature might make it into a release in the near future (eg, next few months) or if it is more likely for a later release (eg, 6 months or later from now)?

Thanks much!

Hi,

I will put it on my list for the near future, but there are a lot of other items on that list as well.

That is fine. I understand that you have to prioritize. There is only so much time to get things done! I appreciate your willingness to consider adding this sooner than later, but I understand if it ends up having to be pushed back in order to give you time to implement other, more important features.

Thanks for the update!

Any chance this might make it into v6 (or better yet a v5 update)?

That's cool. I understand. And I'm glad that you experience me as friendly! :D

This feature isn't super urgent for me personally, but something that I would consider useful in the long term. I understand if it needs to be postponed for a while.

Thanks for the update!
