Thanks for trying our synchronizer. It is not currently intended as a replacement for imaging tools such as Acronis. We don't have a simple way to restore a bootable drive. In fact, only the latest version 6 (beta) can make identical copies of a bootable partition (i.e. the C: drive), but this is still in a testing phase.
The original purpose of the synchronizer is to back up data, not Windows itself or installed programs.
To restore from a USB-connected drive, you first need some bootable Windows installation so you can run the synchronizer. So for many users, that's not feasible. I still need to explore if it can be run off a bootable Windows PE DVD.
What might be feasible is making an external copy, and if the internal hard drive dies, exchange the drives physically. I.e. put the former external drive into the computer. Still, you may need to use a Windows installation DVD to actually make it bootable.
All this might be going to be easier in a future version, but currently backups of system drives are somewhat outside the scope of this tool.
