backup of sffs.ini

Postby Giuse on Sat Jan 14, 2012 5:43 am

Hi, since the sffs.ini file is core for SF, I keep that directory under continuous backup. It turned out that that file is changed almost every minute (I think for updating a timestamp) so the backup is continuously telling me that there is a new file to be backed up and, more important, the backup history of that file becomes useless since also keeping the last 10 versions of it (usually a backup holds less), they refer to the last 15 minutes of it...
The request is then to make the process change/touch that file only when a profile is run.
Thanks a lot.

The file is updated whenever a job runs. So if you want to back up this file, you cannot use real-time synchronization because that would trigger itself. Please use a regular sync such as every 1 hour.

I found the timestamp of the file changed every minute (even more) and I have no job currently running so there must be something else.
Comparing two versions I find that only the SchedulerLive value is changed.
Maybe is the background scheduler that continuously update the file?

Yes, but this is necessary and it will not be changed very soon.
