SFTP error

Postby ITINH on Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:52 pm

we are evaluating the software for use to upload backups created by shadow protect server. i am attempting to set up a client site on the left side to upload to my pc on the right side. i have selected the c drive on the client server, on the right side, i selected internet then chose ssh (sftp). i put in the ip address of our firewall and insured tcp port 22 was open and forwarding to my workstation. when i attempt to connect i get connect failed, error code is 1 009E5B1A EPrepException 00A5DD8C. What have i missed? I assume i need something like filezilla ftp server to run on my pc to accept the connection? is there a tutorial available on how to set this up?

What ssh server are you using on that workstation?

Filezilla is a great ftp server but it is not an ssh or sftp server. It supports ftps which is not the same as sftp. Please find out what ssh server you are using and I can help you a little more.

I would probably install WinSSHd from http://winsshd.org/.

Alternatively, you could use some web space as a central storage point which both computers sync with, using FTP, SSH, WebDAV, or Amazon S3.
