S3 Sync error

Postby Eppert on Sat Mar 06, 2010 10:56 am

Version 3.73a: When syncing from S3 to a local net work path I get the following error message on some of my files and not on others:

\ 1004\A1\2009\1004-A1-2009-INVA260923.pdf (CANNOT CREATE FILE "\\?\E:\TIMESHEET SCANS\ 1004\A1\2009\1004-A1-2009-INVA260923.PDF". THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE PATH SPECIFIED)

there is a strange \\?\ prefix in front of the path. This is not something that I want.

Any idea what this error is due to?

Hello,

the \\?\ prefix ist just an internal path syntax used in the Windows API. So that path is entirely correct.

Apparently the destination path cannot be created on your disk. Maybe you can try to create it manually.

If you upgrade to the latest version 4.89, it will write a more detailed error message into the log file.
