Feature request: Export/Import Remote Service Settings

Postby syncing_feeling on Sat Apr 07, 2012 6:30 pm

It is possible that this can already be easily done and I am just not knowing where to look for the settings file. I would like to be able to copy the settings for the ExtremeSync Remote Service so that I could easily import (or copy) them to another machine. Something like an Export/Import button in the Remote Service Control Panel would be great. Currently I have to manually copy everything from the Remote Service Control Panel (which is not that big of a deal, but not as convenient as copying a single file).

If the settings for the Remote Service currently are already located in a file that I can easily copy I would love to know the location because I'd also like to be able to make backups of that file in general.

I am on Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I had looked in the past but was not able to locate settings for the Remote Service (but again, I just may not have looked in the right place, or known where to look).

Thanks for your consideration!

The settings are in the registry. On a 64-bit system, they are in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SuperFlexibleSynchronizer

On a 32-bit system, it would be

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SuperFlexibleSynchronizer

So you can easily import/export them with the registry editor, but you may also be getting some settings for the main program too.
