Same date different size

Postby rossmcm on Sun May 20, 2012 3:40 pm

I have a 2-way smart copy sync between home and work via Dropbox. The files on Dropbox are zipped and encrypted.

I frequently have an issue where SFFS finds the source and destination files have the same datestamp but differing sizes. The files are almost always Delphi project files *.bdsproj, so it tends not to be a problem.

I have the profile set up to "copy latest version" for conflicts, but these ones never seem to get copied, just reported in the log.

So 2 questions:

How do you set SFFS to always copy conflicting files where the datestamp is identical, but the size differs?
What could be causing this to happen (I realise it's probably not your problem, I just wondered if you had ever struck this)?
Thanks,
Ross

Hello,

the option for this case is on the right-hand side of the Comparison tab sheet in Advanced Mode. It is not related to SmartTracking.

Some applications do that - when you open a file, they add some info but keep the original timestamp. They only modify the timestamp when you actually save a modified version.
