Delayed sync?

Postby wert0 on Wed Sep 26, 2012 11:08 am

Hello, and congrats for an excellent application.

I am (mostly succesfully) usin Syncovery to build my "private Dropbox", syncing my file changes to a NAS at home. As I am almost always on the road working with my laptop, I do not always have an Internet connection. In those cases, the file changes are not copied to my destination folder (in the NAS) when they are made. When I am online, changes are copied without problem.

Is there any setting that would allow Syncovery to "remember" the not-synced changes and perform them once it is possible? As for now, the only way that I have found to sync those changes is manually rerunning the profile -which takes a long time- (I have thousands of files and many GB of data in each of my almost 20 profiles).

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

currently this is not possible. The only thing you can do as a speed up is try the option "Cache Destination File List" on the Special tab sheet. This will keep a copy of the NAS file list in a local database. So the folders are not all looked into on the NAS side every time. If you only sync one way and don't make any changes on the NAS, this should work fine.

I will look into implementing your request in a future version.

OK, thanks.

I would do as you suggest to try to minimiza re-sync time. As for the implementation of the future feature, I really look forward to it. I believe that it would be a great enhancement.

Thanks again.
