SharePoint Online Office 365

Postby ricardodiazjimenez on Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:24 pm

Hi, I have been able to use the software with BPOS (the previous version of SharePoint Online), but now, I am having trouble connecting with the new vesion (Office 365), using the same way (webdav). It returns an authentication error. Does anybody know how to make this work?

You could try the two different WebDAV libraries. Library two allows different authorization schemes. The new version 6 beta would also be worth a try. But I don't know (yet).

Hi,
I have the same problem.
I cannot connect to SharePoint webdav folder. I tried with both libraries.

The drive is available via https://shortname.sharepoint.com. Maybe you check this out (there is a free account on http://www.microsoft.com/de-de/office36 ... rces_de-de

Thanks for any help.
By the way: I like the new name. The old name was grgrgrg.

Cheers,
Miguel

Hi Tobias,
we are working on a migration from file system to SharePoint. Syncovery would be the ideal tool for that if we get the WebDav connection going. The project should start beginning of November. I would suggest to buy Syncovery (to the customer) then.

I tried again. It is basically connecting, but doesn't show subfolders.
Maybe it has to do with the authentification. There are a couple of redirects: xxx.sharepoint.com redirects to login.microsoftonline.com (to enter the username and password here), in case of Active Directory Federation (ADFS) this redirects to adfs.yourcompany.com, then redirected to windows.net and from there back to xxx.sharepoint.com (where xxx=customername). This is due to central cloud single sign in login with different password providers (live.com, microsoftonline.com oder company own ADFS) and multiple servers for which the login must be valid (sharepoint.com, microsoftonline.com, outlook.com, lync.com, dynamics.com, ...). To use SharePoint in Outlook I used the workaround to create a library opening a website within Outlook (set folder homepage). Once this folder is opened, a browser window within the Outlook application opens, where you can go through the whole authetification and redirection process. If you check remember option, you never have to go through again. Maybe something similar could be implemented for Syncovery.

Any help here is welcome. Otherwise we would have to write a script ourselve, shich is the second best solution.

Cheers,
Miguel-Ka
