Tray icon disappeared

Postby Alexander on Mon Dec 10, 2012 3:17 pm

I run Syncovery scheduler as a service. Since recently, an icon appeared in the system tray at every startup. When I closed Syncovery window, this icon remained.
However, a few days ago this icon disappeared completely. The service still starts and profiles run in the background OK. I can start Syncovery manually and it shows the current state of all profiles etc. However, no icon appears in the tray.
I haven't changed any program settings. When I noticed the problem, I was using Syncovery 6.17, but upgrading to v. 6.19 didn't solve the problem. Syncovery icon is not set to be hidden in Windows tray icon settings (Windows 7 x64).
What can be the cause of the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

it's not really a problem because when you use the service, the tray icon is meaningless. In fact, an additional dummy process is required to even show it. If you want to see it, you need to make sure
that the Auto-Start is chosen on the Program Settings dialog and then log out and back in.

I know I can easily live without the icon. The fact is that I'm get used to it and move mouse to system tray every time I want to launch Syncovery :) However, you are absolutely right - it is useless to have an extra process just for that. Thanks!
