Change temp folder

Postby Zakire on Wed Dec 12, 2012 3:10 pm

Hi!

I'm using Syncovery 6.19 and I have set up a job that splits and encrypt a 40GB file and copy it to an FTP site.

My problem is that the job somehow store a temp file on my C: that fills the drive. I have another drive that I want to use for temp storage.

I changed the "Path For Temporary Files" to F: (where I want my temp storage), but C: is still filling up at each job execution.

Please give me some advice what to do.

Thanks in advance!

Did you specify a full path such as F:\TEMP on the Program Settings dialog?

That should really be sufficient. However you can also try changing the TEMP system variable in Windows.

Thanks for your reply!

I have specified "F:\Syncovery" under Program Settings -> Misc -> Path For Temporary Files. Is there some where else I need to change?

Maybe you need to make sure that the folder exists. Windows might not be allowing the program to create it on its own.

Syncovery has access to F:\Syncovery and the folder does exists. In fact, Syncovery does create a file in there, but it's size is 0 bytes. When i cancel the job, the file dissapear.

When I turned off the compression and splitting, and just let the encryption be on, the file is temporarly stored on F:. How ever this is not a solution for me because my transfer fails when i try to transfer 40GB in one file over FTP. I need to split the file.

I will check it, but in the meantime you probably need to change your TEMP environment variable in Windows Control Panel->System.
