Problems with AWS glacier

Postby jim13x on Sun Jun 30, 2013 4:39 pm

I have not been able to configure Syncovery 6.32 to work with Amazon Glacier. I can use other utilities like FastGlacier, so I think I have my AWS credentials and rights configured correctly.

Has anyone else been able to make this work?

Yes, lots of people.

Can you post a log file with error message?

Hi,

I'm on my laptop so I just did a quick install of Syncovery and created a sample profile. The log file follows. I'm getting prompted for a password after I run the profile, but I'm sure I'm entering the correct Access Key Id and Secret Access Key. FYI, my Secret Access Key has forward slashes in it (/).

I do own a few registered copies of Syncovery (Williams Consulting, Inc).

Thanks!

Jim

Slashes in the Secret Key should not be a problem. Can you try if you can get Amazon S3 to work on that machine?

Are you sure that your clock and timezone are correct?

Finally, you can turn on Internet Protocol Logging on the Program Settings dialog and look at the FTPLOG.TXT file, which will contain a detailed error message from Glacier.

Hi, Amazon S3 works great, I use that extensively. Timezone and clock are correct.

I've turned on internet protocol logging:

There was an issue with Daylight Saving Time in the Macintosh version. The new version 6.32a fixes it.
