Completely ignore

Postby planck on Tue Oct 22, 2013 9:36 am

Hello,

I have set some cache and temp directories to be excluded from the sync. However, i see activity in those dirs in the log files, for instance:

Code: Select all
5:33:08 PM.740: Processing real-time data (folder-based)
This run processes whole folders based on real-time events.
  0. 10/22/2013 5:32:21 PM MOD L public\joomla\components\com_s2framework\tmp\cache\__data

Tons of files generated there, every time about 400-500 of those. Taking up resources for no reason.
Shouldn't it completely ignore those dirs, since I have choose "Ignore Totally" in the exclusions?

Thank you!
A.

The above is just the list of events received from Windows. Whether or not they are ignored is shown further down in the log file.

You may want to try the new folder-oriented real-time mode, which processes folders where events have occurred rather than each individual event. You can choose this on the Real-Time Sync dialog.

Cheers,
Tobias

Please send a complete log file where I can see the unwanted events and actions to support@syncovery.com

These folders are not processed, only mentioned in the logs. It works
as designed.

Only simple masks like *.$$$ are processed earlier and may be able to
make your logs shorter. For example, if the files in the tmp folders
have the same extensions, you can exclude for example *.$$$;*.~*;*.tmp
etc.
