Fast Mode: Don't check all DB entries - question

Postby MoltenBlob on Fri Jan 24, 2014 12:41 pm

I have a question regarding the setting:
Fast Mode: Don't check all DB entries.
What is this checking?
How is this different from the file list building that occurs at the beginning of a backup?

Thanks for your time

Hello,
during normal mode, during the copying phase it would check all database entries against the current file list. In fast mode, it updates only the copied or deleted files.

Thanks for the info.
Im still trying to understand what is the consequence of not having it check the DB during copying if it has just used the DB to compile the list?
Can you shed some light on this for me?
Im trying to determine if it is safe to skip this step sometime. one of my backups has 57000 files in it and takes a bit of time for the DB scan process.
thanks

in one way backup scenarios, it's safe to use the fast mode.
