Folder Modified Date

Postby copycat on Tue Feb 04, 2014 4:10 pm

Hi,

My goal is to copy files and folders from one location to another, while maintaining file and folder properties exactly. Unlike Beyond Compare, I'm thrilled to see that Syncovery maintains file and folder create dates when it copies files, as well as file modified dates. I'm surprised to see that folder modified dates, however, get changed to the date the copy was made. Is there a way to avoid this? I can do a Touch operation using Beyond Compare, but my hope is to only have to use a single tool in a single step – hopefully Syncovery!

Hi,

you may want "Folder Timestamp Comparison" under Comparison->More

as well as "Preserve Last Access Timestamp On Source" under Files->More

Cheers,
Tobias

"Folder Timestamp Comparison" did it – thanks!

I didn't think to delve into the Comparison tab, because I'm copying files to an empty directory, in effect comparing source files to files which didn't exist. Seems odd that a comparison option would effect the copy in this situation, but hey, it works :D
