1) Add the ability to point to an external text file with a list of all the files/folders to include.
2) Add the ability to point to an external text file with a list of all the files/folders to exclude.
3) Add a new function for DELETION. Such that, if a file and/or file-path is found to exist, then it is deleted (or moved to location of choice). This goes beyond the norm by allowing this functionality without a MIRROR option having to be used. There are cases for me where I need to delete files if they exist at all, regardless of the sync type.
4) Add the ability within #3 to point to an external text file with a list of all the files/folers to delete.
5) Add the ability to export the file/folder list after manually running a selected profile. This would aid in creating inclusion/exclusion/deletion list text files as outlined above/below. Would like it to export based on the selected view criteria.
I'm partially trying to copy the functionality of the SimSync tool (http://www.simsync.de). It accomplishes the above, and allows an admin to create a template game install folder, minus the files/folders that are specific per user. When it syncs, it copies all the changes, deletes any files that are marked for deletion, but leaves user specific files in tact. Currently, with the mirror copy, I am unsure if it would leave files that were not "selected".
6) Ultimately I'd LOVE the ability to create a group of profile and "export" or compile it into a small EXE app to distribute to a number of users. These users would use the program for nothing more than simply sync'ing their game install.
For my example, the EXE would include 2 profiles and would do the following:
1) Profile 1 would sync the inclusion/exclusion/deletion text files and store them in the EXE directory.
2) Profile 2 would then sync the game install using the inclusion/exclusion/deletion files.
It would simply be a way for users to sync content without needing to purchase a license. 1) None of them want to buy anything, nor would they, 2) they don't use, or would ever use a program like this, 3) most are computer illiterate and just need something to simplify installs.
These additions would allow me to implicitly define what gets included, what is excluded, and what gets deleted. Any chance these could happen? Possibly added into v7 beta before release?
Love the product, and love the new features in v7!
Thanks,
Chris
