File copy bug?

Postby RandyC53 on Wed Apr 28, 2010 8:26 pm

Greetings,

This is a very nice program, the best I've seen so far!

This may have been reported before, but I noticed that when SFFS compares and then copies files, and the file names contain special characters, the program is dropping the character and replacing with "_"

This most often happens with a URL file saved in the \My Documents\Favorites folder. For example: COPY L->R D:\My Documents\Favorites\Blogs\Scot’s Newsletter Blog.url results in N:\My Documents\Favorites\Blogs\Scot_s Newsletter Blog.url

This causes the comparison to (correctly) identify the two files as different, and the file is copied to the destination folder each time the profile is run.

I've tried checking "Binary Comparison" but it doesn't help.

Thanks!

Our software does not do this. Your drive N: does that. It does not seem to be a Windows device. So its compatibility is somewhat limited.

Thank you. Yes, that's probably the reason. It is a NAS device with it's own OS.
