Binary Comparison

Hello,

currently there's no direct verifiation built in, so you'd need to use a separate job with Binary Comparison to verify the integrity of the copy. Binary Comparison can be chosen on the tab sheet Comparsion->More.

That job would show an empty Sync Preview if everything is identical. If not, it shows copying arrows for files that don't match. You can click on "Show All" and then you will see all files marked "COMP OK".

Will reply to the other question separately.

Cheers,
Tobias

Multiple versions of deleted files

Postby superflexible on Tue Jan 19, 2010 8:13 pm

Hello,

in Super Flexible File Synchronizer, there are two ways to keep older files. One is with a renaming scheme using tags like $1$, $2$ for older versions. These older versions will never be touched again by the program, so even if you delete the main file, these older versions will stay where they are.

The second naming scheme is the "Filename Encoding", where the timestamp of each file is incorporated into the filenames. This scheme is more fully supported by the software. Older versions of deleted files will be moved into the "Folder for deleted files" which you can specify on the tab sheet Files->Deletions.

Because "Filename Encoding" encodes all files, even the latest versions, you can really only use it for backup storage that you don't work with yourself.

I intend to make these things more flexible in future updates.

Best wishes,
Tobias Giesen
