2 Versioning problems

Postby Giuse on Tue Jun 02, 2015 2:39 pm

Hi, I have two problems in configuration of versioning (I am using exact mirror mode but I think it makes no djfference):
1) when a file is deleted from the source, all older versions of that file are deleted from the destination, also if the option "File - Deletion - Delete permanently older versions is unchecked,. Is it a bug or should I do something differently? How to keep older versions?
2) there is no way of keeping versions for a certain amount of time (available in other software). I could have a "cleaning" profile mirroring an empty folder with a delayed delete, but the life duration of the versions is based on first run of this cleaning profile and not on when each version was created, correct? Any other way to do that?
Thanks a lot

Hi, did you have time to check point 1?
Any chance to have feature 2 implemented?
Thanks a lot!

Hello,

the checkmark "Delete older versions permanently" is only relevant if you have also chosen "Move Deleted Files into a Specified Folder". Then, the option determines if older versions are also moved into the specified folder, or deleted permanently.

I do not know when I can implement the feature request 2).

You need to specify a folder for deleted files under Files->Deletions.

it is exactly what I did "Move deleted files into a specified folder" but when the source file is deleted, all previous versions are deleted as well and just the last version is moved to that folder. I tried to use the same folder set for previous versions and also another one (in this case Syncovery creates a strange "C." folder that I cannot delete anymore.. by the way)
Maybe a bug or am I setting something wrong?
cheers and thanks
