overwrite read only files

Postby denby on Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:19 pm

I am synchronising some source files (which are read only) to a web server. Unfortunately I keep receiving an error that access is denied.
Copy L->R C:\hydstra\prod\HYD\dat\work\107824.T (145.8kB)
30/06/2015 1:50:30 p.m. FTP Exception (5): EclTcpClientError 550 Access is denied. @ 000000000147DFC2
Exception 550 Access is denied. at 000000000147DFC2.

If I manually remove the read only attribute of the destination files, the sync goes through.

I know about the 'Overwrite Read-Only Files' setting under Safety -> Unattended Mode and it is checked.
Is there another setting somewhere to always allow the overwriting of RO files on the destination?

It's not possible via FTP.

I see.
Well perhaps I should ask another question.

Is there a way to send files via FTP without the RO flag set?
In other words, if I manually remove the RO flag on the destination files and then run the Syncovery profile (and the files it sends don't have the RO flag set) then next time the sync will still work because the destination files are still not RO.

Syncovery does not send any FTP commands related to the read-only flag. It must be a misconfiguration of your FTP server. You need to ask the FTP server manufacturer, not here.

Files uploaded via FTP should never have the read-only flag, unless something is wrong on the server side.

You might try a *before* script that removes the RO flag then an *after* script that re-applies it to your original files.
